Reports To: Chapter Members State Director

 

General Position Summary:

 

Provides leadership to the local chapter and the Board of Directors consistent with state, area and national Society policy, strategies and objectives. Responsible for operating the chapter effectively so that the needs of the members are met. Performs other duties as required by the local chapter’s bylaws. Serves as a voting member of the State Council.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

I.                Conducts the business of the chapter in accordance with chapter bylaws and serves as a chairperson for Board of Directors.

2.                Guides chapter officers and committee chairpersons to ensure the accomplishment of chapter goals, objectives, and strategies.

3.                Serves as a link between the State Council and SHRM to keep chapter members informed of NHRMA/SHRM developments.

4.                Responsible for leading incoming chapter membership through annual transition and planning session.

5.           Guide the board and the chapter in such a manner to achieve a Superior Merit Award.

6.                Represents the chapter at all meetings (State Council/Regional/National) and functions.

7.                Works with Vice President and Immediate Past-President to plan and facilitate annual board planning and transition session.

8.                Monitors the use, accounting and handling of the chapter funds.

9.                Maintains a current active SHRM membership.

10.              Communicates state, area and/or national goals, policies and programs to chapter members. Represents the State Council to local chapter leaders and the membership.

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

1.                Must be a member in good standing elected by the Chapter membership.

2.                Must have served as Vice President for the Chapter.

3.                Must hold professional or general membership standing.

4.                PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
