Hanard Machine, Inc., a premier Northwest job and machine shop located in Salem is seeking to fill the newly created position of Human Resources Manager. Hanard’s primary business includes precision machining for multinational corporations, pertaining to the following industries of rare metals producers, material handling, aerospace and investment casting industries.
Primary Purpose
Directly responsible for planning, developing and administering the Human Resources processes and functions for the company in accordance with best practices, regulatory requirements and aligned with company goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Develops and executes human resource goals and objectives in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the company.
· Develops, recommends and implements human resource policies, procedures and programs, including the employee handbook, job descriptions, and performance reviews. Effectively communicates policies, procedures and programs and trains supervisors and management regarding effective implementation.
· Maintains affirmative action program and other applicable reports and records for EEO compliance
· Develops and implements an effective recruitment and hiring program; new employee orientation
· Plans and coordinates employee and management training programs including safety related training
· Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs
· Works directly with management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
· Manages safety and workers’ compensation programs and insures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
· Regularly evaluates and makes recommendations regarding company policies, procedures and programs for effectiveness and efficiency.
· Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment law and insures compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Works with managers to educate and insure compliance with applicable human resource policies, procedures and programs
· Establishes and maintains human resource related records and reports
· Works closely with the Executive Management team on human resource related issues
Minimum Qualifications
· This position typically requires a BA with an emphasis in management or human resource management and a minimum of five years of exempt level human resource management experience. PHR or SPHR is preferred.
· Experience in planning, developing and implementing a formal structure to human resources policies, procedures and programs is strongly preferred
· Experience in successfully guiding and supporting an organization through change is desirable.
· Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
· Ability to direct and provide leadership to the human resource function is essential
· Knowledge of the industry is preferred
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Compensation and Hours
· This position is full-time located in Salem, Oregon
· The hours are typically Monday through Friday
